Getting To Know You: A Brief Biography of Pastor Mark and his Family.

I came to Christ while serving in the U.S. Air Force in 1981! Upon being discharged from the military, I attended Bible College in the state of Florida. It was there that I met and dated a South African student! This began my love affair with South Africa.

Debbie and I were married in Newcastle, South Africa in June 1987. I took a fifteen month sabbatical from college and ministered as an intern in the Newcastle Bible Church. This was used of God to convince me to someday return to SA on a full-time basis.

Upon returning to the USA in 1988, I finished my undergrad work at Liberty University. We subsequently moved to Sun Valley, California to attend The Master's Seminary and Grace Community Church. While at Grace, the elders there recognized our desire for ministry in South Africa. Through their guidance and direction we began making plans for our eventual return. Subsequent to graduation from seminary and ordination at Grace Community, we finally arrived in Cape Town in March 1995.

It was always our desire to start and plant a Church, so after serving in two other ministries, we began LHBC six years ago. Now, along with our two wonderful childrenJanelle and Micaiah, we have the high privilege of ministering to those God has brought and entrusted to us!
